A Mother’s Day Poem for My Mum Mother’s day is a day for giving thanks for all Mums do, I am going to thank you here in the hope that this reaches you. All throughout my life you were the best Mum anyone could wish for, There for me unconditionally, always smiling, so caring, thoughtful and fun, That’s why the world without you is a sadder place and I miss you all the more. I would give anything to sit beside you today and tell you this, but im sure that you can hear me and maybe even see, I want to say thank you for being you, That might sound funny but it’s the only way I know how to say you were the perfect Mum to me. Thank you for so many Happy Days, Days out, Holidays, Birthdays, Parties-so many memories, I am thankful for the times we spent together and will treasure them always. I am thankful for all the things you taught me, You showed me what is important in life, You always enjoyed every day and had a positive outlook and I always thought that, that was a great way to be. I loved spending time with you and a day wont go by that I don’t miss you, and wish that you were still here, But I am grateful for having a Mum like you and for 23 years of happy times together, Today I will think of those times and smile, and I know that somehow you are still always near.
